After my first fix, I created a Pinterest page dedicated to styles I like. I share that link with my stylist so that she can see what I like. I can also send a note to her about anything specific I would like in a certain box.
I still have my settings to one fix per quarter, but now I look forward to working on my blog every month, so I probably should change my frequency to monthly. This month I requested the same stylist as last month (Ashley), since I ended up keeping everything. I'm beginning to think that if you stick with the same stylist for a while, they will start to understand what you like. I told Ashley that I had a couple cookouts and a trip to Chicago coming up. I also requested a pencil skirt that was comfortable and some more dresses and tops for the warm weather.
Here is what I received in my 5th fix:
(1) THML Gloris Hi-Lo Blouse $48
I like the style and the orange in this top, but I am not sure about the pattern. It's pretty similar to the shirt I kept from my first fix, but I love tank tops, and I love the flowy bottom. This shirt is a maybe right now. I think I like the look better with the shorts than the jeans.
(2) 41Hawthorn Filbert 3/4 Sleeve Popover Blouse $58
I LOVE the coral color of this blouse, and I think the sleeves are really cute, but I'm not sure about the cut of the neckline and the stiffness of the bottom. I tried it with my jeans and the skirt that came in my fix (#3). I"m not digging the boots I chose either, so ignore them!
At first I felt this shirt was a definite no, but I like the color so much and don't really have anything like it in my wardrobe, so I'm torn! What do you think?
(3) Pixley June Polka Dot Skirt $58
I should have clarified in my request that I need a solid color skirt, but maybe I will just have to go find some solid shirts to go with this skirt! It's a soft material, almost like corduroy, and is not too tight on my stomach. It has a zipper in the back (no elastic waistband like last time!) but is still surprisingly comfortable. And it looks so good with that shirt that I can't decide on... I also tried it with a couple of other solid shirts in my closet.
I'm pretty sure this one is a keeper.
(4) Papermoon Soren Dress $68
I loved this dress just looking at it. Look at the cute crisscross in the back! When I tried it on the first time, I felt that the waist was just weirdly placed and made me look too wide. Now trying it again today, I'm not so sure I feel that way anymore. I love the flowy nature of the dress and the softness of it.
I think I need help deciding on this one as well. Keep or return?
(5) 41Hawthorn Kassidy Faux Wrap Dress $68
I loved this dress from the moment I put it on. My stylist told me it has a flattering silhouette and can work for either work or date night.
As you can tell, by this point the heat was getting to me a little bit. ;-) Now the hard part, as usual. Deciding what to keep and what to return. Was my stylist right on the mark again? Will I have two fixes in a row where I keep them all? I'd love to hear your comments below!
I have until Tuesday to figure out what I want to do. Then I put anything I don't want in a prepaid envelope and drop off at the post office. Too easy! I also go through a checkout on Stitch Fix to tell my stylist everything I liked and didn't like so that my next fix can be even better! So go ahead and give it a try! It only costs $20 and that will go toward whatever item(s) you keep! But be warned...playing dress up is addictive! You can also earn referral credits if your friends sign up. Well I ended up keeping all 5 items again! Luckily, I picked up an extra shift at work to help pay for my addiction!
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces! I have that polka dot skirt and love it. The fit is perfect and it looks great on you!
